Education is the best investment and the best form of education is travel. A study tour is an international cultural experience enabling students to learn in the process of taking part in enjoyable activities. When thinking of an overseas study tour, which country is the best destination for a study tour for students from China? From the perspective of distance, culture and economic development, Japan is definitely the first choice. The culture of Japan is unique and exquisite, while it is deeply influenced by Chinese classical civilization. The traditional beauty of the ancient capital Kyoto, the prosperous metropolis Tokyo, the safe and healthy fine food, the fantastic natural ecology, the highly developed public transportation and the perfect service industry, as well as the hot springs, cherry blossoms and red leaves make Japan such a fascinating place to visit.
On the 22nd of December, 2019, 13 HIKSVS students, full of spirit and energy, gathered at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. After saying goodbye to their parents, the group went on a 10-day study tour to Japan.
Skiing is a very dynamic and exciting sport. HIKSVS children came to the famous Kobe Rokkosan, a large outdoor leisure resort in Kansai region. The children spent three days skiing in this fairy-tale Nordic world. There was a lot of skiing fun to be found in the Rokkosan snow park, where the children experienced the excitement of speed in this silver and white world. They also built snowmen and played snowball fights together.
The ski training, with small class size and professional ski instructors, enabled the children to master snowboarding and double board skiing skills in just three days. At the very beginning, the children were not familiar with every piece of equipment. Finally, they could bravely glide down the ski slope. The teachers witnessed their progress. The children experienced the joy of success. At the same time, they developed a strong will, learned how to survive independently and overcome difficulties. This is the biggest fun skiing training brings to the children!
“Cultural appreciation”, next part of study tour in Japan, will be published later. Stay tuned.
