HIKSVS International School opened its doors to the first intake of students this week for the start of the new academic year. The students began a new and exciting venture at the very first stand-alone primary school, licensed by a UK independent preparatory school in China.
The first day began with a school tour where the students were able to see for themselves the outstanding facilities that they will be working in, exceptional facilities and with well-equipped classrooms which boast the latest technology. At HIKSVS International School, every child undertakes ‘Four Journeys’ to develop every aspect of their learning and their character. Our outstanding teaching staff are coming from the UK, South Africa and Australia, guiding the students in the international curriculum stream which uses the British National Curriculum as its basis. The Chinese Curriculum will be taught to those students enrolling in the domestic stream by a well-qualified Chinese staff, led by a very experienced Chinese leadership team.
The first day got even more exciting when all the staff and students got together for the cutting of the Celebratory Cake. The students looked fantastic in their uniforms and were thoroughly enjoying their first day. “I am so excited!” “I’m having great fun today!” “The school is great! My classroom teachers are superb!” “I love our lunch at school.” “I love beetles!” (science class) all comments from our lovely Year 2 students.
A big surprise was waiting for the students at the afternoon assembly when they were all presented with a Foundation Medal, for being the students who were present on Day One. The medal will be something that the students will have forever and that they will keep with great pride.
