The House football competition at HIKSVS International School took place on 26th March. With the start whistle, all four houses of Bodiam, Hever, Leeds and Rochester started their round robin fixtures. Everyone was so inspired to play a role in their own team.
According to the House system, each team is made up of students from different year groups and a mixture of genders. Students from Year 4 proactively took the leadership role. Male students and female students also worked well with each other by making the best use of their own strengths and tried new techniques and tactics whenever possible. Students were becoming aware of the importance of working as a team, which was the key to score a goal on the pitch. Either a single passing or a shooting won a big applause from the audience.
Mr. Day, Head of Sports was in charge of the House competition this time and also acted as the referee in the match. During the post-match interview, he said, "As each match only lasted 6 minutes, it prompted a much more fast and furious approach to each fixture. Even with such a short time frame though, each match had plenty of goalmouth actions, with many goals scored throughout the afternoon. It was great to see the House spirit once again being shown from every House, which certainly bodes well for the Summer term, where we look forward to an action-packed Sports Day to finish off the House Sport Competitions as well as the academic year."
